The Resilience Prison Project’s mission has the belief in transformation and second chances at its core. More than a program that rehabilitates, our approach aims to empower change i.e. it helps individuals become change agents within their communities.
A comprehensive Train the Trainers program is one of the ways we empower those who will lead this change. This is actually an initiative that nurtures leaders in correctional facilities as well as our community at large.
There are several factors that determine the effectiveness of our program. Some of these factors include participants’ willingness to embrace change, take responsibility and to develop a sense of belonging in a transformed learning community. In addition, is the role played by our committed volunteers who serve as mentors, role models, and catalysts for positive change.

How to Become a Focalizer, Facilitator, and Co-facilitator
Our training helps potential leaders acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to bring about change. Would you like to be part of this good work?
Focalizers – Lead specific sessions in which they provide expertise in a particular area.
Facilitators – Guide participants through the program, making sure they are comfortable and helping create an environment that is conducive to learning.
Co-facilitators – Assist facilitators during sessions so as to foster collaborative learning. Further, they create an atmosphere of unity where everyone counts.
Firstly, volunteers initially participate like those in custody so as to get equipped with knowledge and experience that will enable them to become competent for any of the above roles later on. It is indeed a process….
How You Can Participate
For Adults in Custody
Such inmates who have expressed their interest in supporting program facilitation tend to join our transformative journey while still themselves incarcerated but now may formally request this by applying through our program coordinator. In fact, this is not just about them changing themselves but others.
For Volunteers
Are you a citizen seeking some worthwhile engagement? Why don’t you volunteer with us? Above all, your commitment can be a driving force for transformation regardless of whether you have a counseling or teaching background or simply have a passion for social change.
